The New York Times' editorial today,
A Blue-Ribbon Look at Criminal Justice, asks why the Senate does not vote to pass legislation for the creation of a blue-ribbon commission on criminal justice reform that recently came out of the Judiciary Committee. Our Virginia Senator Jim Webb, as most of us know, was the sponsor of the legislation. He has taken a leadership role for the past year or so in trying to get the Senate to act to overhaul a system that is pretty uniformly acknowledged to be broken.
