Interesting article in WaPo today about Prince William County (just west of Fairfax) discussing how the exurbs around D.C. are going Democratic as the demographics and economy change. With each successive election, we have seen more and more counties in NOVA move into blue territory and/or increase in percentage voting Democratic. I think that, by the next election, if we continue to work hard and the state's economy doesn't overwhelm Kaine's popularity, we'll continue to make gains. Here's part of what is printed:

"...Prince William became a bellwether county in a presidential battleground state."

"Prince William County is the gateway between Northern Virginia and the rest of Virginia," said Board of County Supervisors Chairman Corey A. Stewart (R-At Large). "We've proven that, as goes Prince William, so goes Virginia. The Obama camp understood that. The [Sen. John] McCain campaign failed to recognize that."
