There is one thing that can be said about Republicans, they are never right correct, but never in doubt. During the reign of W, we had all the experts from Cheney to Rumsfeld telling us how to prosecute the Iraq war even though none of them had ever been in combat and most did all they could to avoid harm's way when their country needed them. Now, the same group and their lackeys including half-term governor Palin and little Eric Cantor are experts on interrogation. I am speaking of course about the underwear bomber and the fact that the expertise of the FBI is called into question even though it appears that our law enforcement officials did a masterful job in getting the would-be terrorist to sing like the proverbial bird. Our Republican friends who apparently have gained their knowledge about techniques by watching every episode of the TV show “24” think that torture is the only way to make us safe.

The nonsense being spouted by the right-wing machine is breathtaking. Newt Gingrich, for example, over and over has simply used the GOP playbook and outright lied on national TV. Thank God that "fake" journalist John Stewart who interviewed him February 9th would not let him get away with it. I wonder if the same could be said of David Gregory? The truth is that true experts from the CIA to the FBI continue to tell us that "enhanced interrogation" does not work, and the excellent work done with the Detroit bomber proves them correct. How long will our national media give Cheney and his do-nothing lackeys in Congress a forum? We have true dedicated professionals keeping us safe and we should celebrate their success, not question their methods.

The Bush Administration and the Republican Congress presided over perhaps the worst foreign policy debacle in American history, the Iraq War, and now we are supposed to believe they know best when it comes to extracting information. I don't think so. Cheney and his crew should find a deep hole and crawl in while the media should show them to be the fools they really are.
